SEPTEMBER 13, 2016 BIRMINGHAM, AL: Transworld has announced its affiliation with John (J) Sutton as an M&A Advisor with this growing business advisory company. Sutton will be actively working with businesses throughout Transworld’s markets and will have a highlighted focus on the Energy, Utility, and Industrial sectors.
Transworld was founded by Stan Bailey, its Chairman, with the intent to bring together Advisors consisting of the most experienced business executives who have operated, bought and sold companies – “J has been involved in numerous acquisitions throughout his career as a buyer, seller, provider of due diligence support, owner’s representative and advisor. I am certain that our clients will enjoy working with him. His experience in the energy, utility, and industrial sectors will be a tremendous asset to business owners in this group who are facing a major strategic decision,” stated Bailey.
Sutton earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1983 from the University of South Alabama and began his career with Southern Company (Alabama Power) working in plant operations, plant maintenance, project management and marketing until he joined a subsidiary of Southern Company (Mirant) in 1998. He was on the front end of Mirant’s European expansion and created/managed the business plan for Mirant’s European power plant development efforts. In 2003, he returned to the U.S. and acquired Entec Services, an environmental firm that conducts air pollution testing for industrial plants. Entec was acquired by Montrose Environmental in 2013 after which Sutton worked for Montrose as the Regional Vice President until 2016 when he started his own firm Sagittario Consulting. Sutton is also active in the community having served on numerous boards including tenures as President for both Camp Smile-A-Mile and the Inverness Rotary Club.
Bailey continued, “J Sutton has worked with national / international firms as well as owning and running his own company and is not only a proven business leader who has strong skills in technical due diligence, acquisition support, and business advisory planning but also a terrific person and is indicative of the type of proven leader, and business executive that Transworld brings to the business owners.”
